Facts about Coloring Human Hair Extensions

Women who can’t seem to effectively grow their hair long, or those who simply want to add more style and volume to theirs, shouldn’t miss out on getting great hair extensions. If you get real Brazilian hair, for instance, you could style and color it pretty much however you want it to look. There are a few things you should know about coloring your hair extensions, however.

Human Hair

First, you should know that only real human hair can be colored using conventional hair dyeing techniques. This is because synthetic hair extensions aren’t made with the same components as the former, as they are essentially made of plastic, nylon or polyester materials. Hence you won’t always end up with the same color you’re looking to have.

Applying Colors

Know that while you can perfectly dye your extensions even when it’s already clipped onto your hair, this isn’t recommended, as the color might not be uniform all throughout. When you do start coloring though, start on a few strands first, just to see how it will end up. When you’re happy with the color, apply on the rest of your extensions.

Post-Dyeing

You should rinse your hair in cold water after applying the color, being careful not to cause it to break or get worn. Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner that’s meant for use on colored hair.
